The 28th Annual St. George Island Charity Chili Cookoff and Auction is coming Saturday March 6th, 2010. Mark your calendars and come join the fun and activity. Just head to the middle of the island and head toward the tents.
The SGI Chili Cookoff is sanctioned by The International Chili Society and chili teams come from all over the southeast to compete. All proceeds benefit the St. George Island Volunteer Fire Department & First Responders Unit. Please plan to join all the Island folks and visitors for great food and beverage booths, championship chili, lots of fun and music…and a Big Tent auction that is not to be missed!
A $5.00 Entry Fee will buy a day chock full of good food and a day to remember, including these fun events:
Friday March 5th, 5:00 to 7 PM: Auction Art Preview at the Jay Abbott Firehouse on East Pine. Cash Bar.
Saturday March 6th: 5K Chilipepper Run Registration at 7:30 AM Center of Island. Run starts at 8:00 AM
Big Tent Art Auction starts at 11:00 AM and goes on until every lot is sold!
Crock Pot Chili Contest: Bring your Crock Pot Chili by 9 AM, Judging at 11:30 AM. Anything Goes!
Judging for Best Booth, Showmanship, Miss Chili Pepper & Mr. Hot Sauce begins at 12:15 PM
International Chili Society Awards Presentation at 3:30 PM
Live Music Under the Big Tent, with King Cotton Blues Band, from 4 PM until 6 PM
